Nice write-up. Totally with you on bikes being much better for school drop-off than cars. I probably save 10-20 minutes every day by avoiding the horrendous car lines at school drop off/pickup. There's enough room at our school that many more parents could bike and it'd still be just as fast, but so far there's only 1 other cargo bike parent and she has wimped out over this first winter (understandable since she just got the bike and isn't a fully confident cyclist yet). Hopefully we'll inspire more.

We are the only cyclists dropping off at our kid's school too. Our neighborhood is pretty bike friendly too which makes it that much more of a head scratcher for me. But I could see how the hills and Seattle weather would scare a lot of folks off. But the drop offs! So much easier on a bike.

Great piece TJ! I have been considering getting the exact same bike actually! I want to bike around with both my daughters as well. I'm not in a huge hurry as it's still winter and my youngest is still 10 months old (so a little small), but I've been researching a few ebikes and Rad wagon seems the way to go! Also, had no idea they were made in Ballard. I was just up there last weekend visiting my brother.

Love this story! You should send this to Rad Power Bikes. It's like the best consumer review anyone could ask for!

Just sent to them! We'll see what they think :) Thanks so much for reading!

Excellent. Not Queen's "Bicycle Race"?? I mean, obviously everyone you ride by already knows their face just got blasted off so "We Will Rock You" seems redundant. Also, please provide an info graphic of number of faces rocked off, that would be useful data for my records.

You know what, I need to add that song to the rotation. My current goal is to get them to memorize Bohemian Rhapsody so we can blare that when we roll into the school parking lot. I know I only have so much time before they're like "dad, no way we're listening to that"

This is an excellent goal to achieve before they get that "everthing Dad does is embarassing" vibe in 10 yrs or so.
